was excited to have found this spot after their whittier location closed. We used to go for their salsa all the time. we came in good faith excited to hopefully buy some. NOT. whoever that man was said they had NO salsa! weird, we saw the serving bottle right there. anyways we drove to Teddy’s Red tacos down the street and bought their salsa for $4 🫶🏼 We no longer need wonder why Birrieria Gonzalez’s whittier location couldn’t stay open to customers and flies a like. this is the greed they talk about in the bible, may you have the business you deserve. I really tried to support this local spot, but Birria González in Downey made it tough. Let’s just say my wallet took a bigger bite than I did. Ordered a large consommé—turns out their definition of ‘large’ is just a sad, overpriced cup of broth playing hide-and-seek with the meat. And the tacos? The tortillas were so tiny, I thought they accidentally gave me a sampler. For these prices, I was expecting a feast, not a snack. Not coming back—I’ll let my cravings and my bank account recover elsewhere!
