I went at 930pm after a 6 hr east coast flight. Everything else closed at 9. GREAT food!! Loud music and feels a night club, good or bad. Had big screens to catch the Dogers. I’ll go back even when everything else is open.

It was a great experience, they had great food, service and music. I will definitely come back everytime I’m in town 😁✨

Everyone on the table got refills of chips & salsa when I order they didn’t tell me it was going to be charged for that. My drink was horrible it was too sweet & warm. The lady spilled it all over on her way to table the tray, table & me. It was a flight they all taste the same.

On April 30 we visited El Pescador/Cantina 11 to celebrate my daughter’s awards, but the experience was a total disappointment and, frankly, dangerous.
When ordering, I explicitly disclosed my food allergies to both shrimp and pork, requesting that they be removed from my molcajete. Despite these clear instructions, the kitchen failed to accommodate this request. While they did remove the shrimp, they actually added pork to my dish. I only discovered this after I had already begun eating and noticed the meat in the salsa.
Beyond the serious lack of regard for my health and safety, the quality of the food was unacceptable. The flour tortillas were undercooked and had the texture of cardboard.
As this was my first time visiting this restaurant, it was a deeply disappointing experience. A restaurant must prioritize the safety of its guests, and this establishment failed to do so. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, especially those with food allergies.

My first visit to El Pescador in Downey—and definitely not my last!
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The space is beautiful, spotless, and has such a welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. I was lucky to be helped by Melanie, who made the entire experience even more special with her kindness and great service.
Now let’s talk about the food… WOW. The carne asada plate was absolutely to die for—perfectly cooked and full of flavor! It came with nopales, fresh pico de gallo, creamy guacamole, savory chorizo, delicious beans, and perfectly cooked rice. Every bite was a treat!
And the best part? This incredible plate (and other amazing dishes!) are under $15 during lunchtime. You truly can’t beat that.
If you’re looking for delicious food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere, you HAVE to come here. It’s simply amazing!
