I was diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) in October of 2023 in my foot and calf following three injuries to my foot within three weeks of each other starting in August of 2023. I could not walk for over two months due to the pain. After three procedures (lumbar sympathetic nerve block), a year of Physical Therapy, pain management course, and desensitization I was able to walk with a cane and in my normal shoes size. I could do a little without, which was saved for home, but distance without and on hard ground I could not. I was told my cane would be permanent after the eighteen month mark, the only other possibility would be nerve medication that might help and I would have to deal with side effects. I said no to that. I cut out cane sugar from my nutrition intake, made some additional changes for my nutrition, kept active while being aware of my limitations, and lost some weight. In May of 2025 I tried acupuncture while traveling, but just one treatment. There was a difference, but not significant. Multiple doctors, even the previous one that did my first acupuncture treatment, told me there was no cure for CRPS and I found nothing in my own research either. I decided to try acupuncture after returning home still and found Dr. Joo.
Dr. Joo met with me the same week I contacted him and we discussed my situation. He recommended acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine. He told me his goal was for me to throw my cane in the trash. My initial thought was “yeah okay, it’s been over two years.” My goal was to have some reduction of pain, I wasn’t expecting an elimination of the pain that I have been dealing with and could not handle hoping for it – again multiple doctors and research said it wouldn’t happen.
Once completing four treatments though I realized that it really was a possibility and started his herbal medicine. Initially I only started acupuncture and cupping. I did not get hopeful or excited right away and proceeded with caution on my thoughts. I walked without the cane slowly, stretched and massaged my foot as Dr. Joo showed me. I took the medicine as directed and began walking longer without the cane in use (I took it with me just in case, my gait was very wonky after so long). I stopped taking the cane with me and after the sixth treatment I was able to jump and jog a little, happy tears right after the first thirty seconds. I still have some work to do strength wise, but the cane is finally gone after two years and four months and am no longer limited due to pain. Dr. Joo is now one of my favorite humans, he is the best and I definitely recommend going to him.

My mother in law started acupuncture for trigeminal nerve pain in her jaw and the results have been incredible. Each session and medication made my mother in law pain go away.
After so many years of daily pain, we finally feel relief that Dr Joo has been able to help my mother in law with the pain she has been struggling for years.
We are so thankful we found Dr Joo and we highly recommend him and his acupuncture.

Dr is very helpful, insightful, and kind. I came in with menstrual issues, and wanted him to help balance my hormones and treat ovarian cyst. He recommended acupuncture, cupping, and herbal teas. After 3 months of consistent weekly treatment, my ovarian cyst reduced from 6cm to 2cm, and my hormone levels have been restored. I still experience some PMS symptoms, but overall feeling better than when I first started. Definitely recommend. Not to mention how relaxed I feel after my acupuncture appointments, such a stress reliever. Thanks Dr!

My brother has been under Dr. Joo’s excellent care for the last three months to relieve the pain that he has been experiencing for the last three years in his neck, left shoulder and his left arm and hand. After seeing many medical doctors with no relief from medications or physical therapy, his neurologist recommended acupuncture treatments. After talking to my brother’s insurance company and doing much research we chose Dr. Joo because of his outstanding patients’ reviews. Upon meeting Dr. Joo for a consultation and assessment of my brother’s symptoms and medical history, treatments began. Even after the very first treatment, my brother’s pain subsided greatly giving him much needed relief. During my brother’s three months of treatments the pain is totally gone. We have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Joo’s ability to work wonders through his targeted acupuncture treatments. We.highly recommend Dr. Joo’s treatments to all who are experiencing pain. To Dr. Joo and all of his patients, may the new year bring health and prosperity to all.

I was recommended to go see an acupuncturist by my doctor for pain and I was all for it because I had it done before years ago somewhere else out of State which was an amazing experience and it helped me tremendously! I came here based on all the 5 star reviews. Firstly the clinic is clean and clam. After explaining all my pain complaints Dr. Joo was nice and explained all that I needed. The first session went smoothly even the massage was really nice, he explained that I needed to buy his teas in order to help me heal, I truly believe in herbs and remedies as I do them myself, but he kept saying without it I won’t heal as good, I’m sure his teas are good and do help many. But he sells them very expensive which I understand that each patient is different therefore not everyone gets the same herbs in their formula as he explains. The sessions after that the needles kept falling off (I did my best not to move) and it hurt more for days each time. The thing is I felt a bit pressured into buying the tea at everyone session which I cannot afford and even so, I’m allergic to some. It would be a good idea if he were to give or sell small samples of it for a lower price so people could try it and make sure no allergic reactions or so. Don’t get me wrong, he’s nice and very respectful. It’s just that, this place wasn’t for me, I felt no better and no benefit just more sore
